Seeing this reminded me that I had a cabinet handle I needed to re-tap threads in. I had it in my truck, but kept forgetting about it. We're in the process of selling our house and moving to full-time RV retirement, so a lot of things are out of place. The handle goes in the RV; many tools are at the house. So at the end of the vid, I went out to the truck, got the handle, and checked all the usual places for my tap & die set. Nope. Looks like I put that into storage. FFS, now what, spend even more time going to storage and finding the set, using it, all to fix a $2 handle? I may be cheap, but that would be a false economy. So I used a spare screw that fits those handles, and re-tapped the hole with that. Who needs cutting lube when you're not using a proper tool in the first place? Turned out fine. I don't know what the handle is made of, but it's a lot softer than the stainless screw. Half turn in, remove, blow out debris, back to that point and repeat.
When you bought the can of rapid tap it was new – to you! The next one you buy will be a "new" can also – unless you go around buying used cans of Rapid Top! ๐
A diamond cartel works by holding back, or buying up, diamonds, so they become rare and expensive.
Please, do the same, and avoid crap videos like this.
Hey ave, any chance you would be interested in doing a series where you take a forge and work your way up making all the tools you think someone might want?
As my wife says what's on the outside don't matter it's on the inside that counts n i think ya right let's get to the inside then
Yeah,my "friend" disappeared my jug of the old school "rapid tap",claims he has no idea where it went…all I can say is:I ain't happy!
Thank you so much for posting this as I had forgot the name of this brand and had been binge watching your and TOTs vids hoping to get a glimpse of the tapping fluid that you guys use lol
My set of Katzbalger steak knives needed sharpening, so I used my Granddad's Arkansas stones and honing oil set. My Granddad's been dead for 37 years.
Forgot what steak tastes like anymore. Or what taste is.
My lathe operator's manual states:
"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, it would be a pity to damage yours."
Reminds me of the local grocery ripoff. They raise the price on something, and EVERY TIME they put a little sticker under the new tag that says "Everyday Savings!" or "New LOW Price!" Fawkin schmucks
Wasn't the old stuff banned for carcinogens or something like that? I have a unopened can in the shed. The new stuff doesn't seem as good as the old, but what do I know…lol.
Ha, looks exactly like the 25 year old gallon jug in the shop that we still haven't finished. But hey, it was new at some time!
I have a small container of that stuff with the flippy uppy top. It was smashed on the top corner when I found it, thought they came that way. It lives in a baggie now.
