I used a 555 timer and relays to control the spindle speed of my lathe. I got a lot of comments that relays won't last in that application. So I decided to test out the cheapest relays I could find. Under 4 amp nominal load and huge inductive voltage spikes they only started glitching at 2.3 million cycles!
Invaluable knowledge your handing out fee off chooch..😅
What kind of counter are you using here?
felt my skull swell one tenth an iq point. i now understand stuff a lil better. thank you uncle bumblefuck
I work for three days many a year matter of fact I used to have a CB shop back in the day to repair amplifiers CBS walkie talkies under such so I worked with a lot of relays what I'm curious about is how many 5,000 normally open relays can you put on one circuit
Not accurate. The speed at which you where testing did not allow for adequate heat dissipation. Hence welded contacts.
The buzzer sound from all the school scoreboard gyms is just a big mechanical relay wired with 60Hz AC which ends up buzzing at 120Hz for each peak of the AC signal.
So why do I need a relay in my maxi scooter for an aftermarket aliexpress horn ? (there's probably a stock relay already installed , didnt check tho)
People all over the place "bruh it will burn you alive" or "it will skin your family" im like chill there's a horn switch right on teh fucking handlebar
Other swear it will burn the fuse for the horn and then continue burning the rest of the fuses through blood magic, while stories emerge of dead batteries because "bruh just use a relay dont u know that"
Keeping a eye on my Co-workers is now going to called “watching for the NASCAR effect”.
The problem with cheap relays is that this one might perform well. But how about the one next to it? I don't even buy the cheap relays for hobby projects any longer, wasted way too much time debugging them.
I had 40 crib death led automotive bulbs (sort of, overheating and bad solder joints and low temp solder) from a “Canadian seller” located in China….
Enjoyed this video very much. Thank you.
Little late BUT
Electronics guy told me they also have a wiping action when they actuate to rub corrosion off and make them last longer. You could probably see that with the high speed no problem.
What happened to the Alaska vidjayo?
