*Skip to 4:45 for teardown.* You've never seen an impact mechanism like this! It's hydraulically actuated, so it really is more of a oil mush gun than an impact. But it does have a ton of expensive machining and cool innards to poke at.

Looks like they finally found the magic Answer that eluded the many Industry Giants come before. A “reliable” high performance tool with a calculable & predictable # of Cycles or time before performance losses become so great that the user HAS TO BUY ANOTHER.

If a tool fails completely the user is dismayed and loses trust in the brand, HOWEVER if the tool provided great reliable dependable service but then just gets worn out from use AND the worn part is unserviceable OR part replacement exceeds cost of a new unit … The user will then simply assume they wore the tool out and then buy another!

It’s so sinister that i tip my hat to the design engineering team that dreamt up this monstrosity of corporate suit wet dreams.

Cuz so long as everything else is built solid the tool will ONLY degrade with continued use … whether that time is 2 years of day after day use or 20years of light service once it’s exceeded a certain amount of use it becomes too worn out to perform as needed or comparable against what’s available in the future.

And any honest worker who has used the tool to its calculated point of performance loss will know how much work they got out of the tool and understand they wore the tool out, it lasted and performed well for so long and Happily go buy the next generation from the brand. OH BLIMEY Barney, I think we got ourselves a winner here! 🤑

(That is if everything works as intended and designed 😈)

Repairs take forever if at all under Ridged if the serial # can't be read void took the tool kit back to home depot after the repair shop had my drill for 2 months and couldn't get a damn trigger for the drill. Went back to Milwaukee (bad choice) said f@#& it all Makita tools now.

I bought the 18v and 12v kits in Alberta Canada,,dirt cheap price for a great set of tools,,came back to the UK and low and behold found out that my AEG battery charger,,240v is the same as the rigid ,turns out AEG are German and are part of the Rigid company of tools.

I would highly have to disagree that Ryobi rigid in Milwaukee are similar and that the only thing different is marketing have you ever put a M18 fuel up against the Ryobi or even a rigid octane there's no comparison Milwaukee is better and basically every area besides price
