The urethane handles on my older Wera screwdrivers is decomposing. I was under the impression that plastics, the bane of the earth, do not break down in the environment for millions of years. Hrmmmm.
Why are they rotting in my toolbox after a decade?
Why are they rotting in my toolbox after a decade?
Many plastics and rubbery handles also contain a plasticiser chemical. You get a very sticky disgusting "bloom" of the stuff on the surface, which also tends to be an endocrine disrupter.
Doesn't Wera do a range that's supposed to resist oils and craps?
My snap-on tools with these grips are still good ๐ got them when the design was introduced! had lots of use until 2010 and used on and off since!
Purchased a pair of Stanton ST-150 Turntables that went sticky all over . Some sort of Chinesium coating ruined my decks .
wood plastics like xcelite drivers and plastic pouches for holding wrenches and files. put those in a tool box and ask the wifey to grab you a #2 flatty one day :p
My driver drawer is full of early 90's craftsman drivers. Smells like ass, but they still do the job. So, every time me and the wife go out special, I spritz some WD-40 on my neck and give the screwdrivers a coat too! Waiting for Yankee Candle to catch on!
Is this why my dads craftsman screwdrivers smell like ass mixed with stinky saliva?
Had to throw them all out and buy him new ones. Now I'm regretting it.
I have my grandfather's Craftsman screwdrivers with plastic handles. 1960s, I believe. Certainly before 1975.
Old screwdriver handles were actually made of cocaine
The crescent screwdrivers have stunk like vomit for decades. I personally love that smell when I open the toolbox drawer.
Had some black-handled Snap-On screwdrivers stored in a toolbox that never got used. Stashed away for 20 years. When I came across it again (Hey! Looka what I rediscovered!) EVERY ONE of the Spank-On had the black handle in pieces and about 1/2 of the broken pieces had turned to a white dust. Weird as shit. Snark-On replaced them with a few phone calls…
One of my dads old black fapoff screw drivers has been disintegrating in his tool box. Neither of us know how or why but its the only one in the kit that is.
And the people who own Bucket Boss I talked to some of those people there was brain dead has Biden LOL
I hate f**** voice recognition I said tool rolls that are made by Bucket Boss and smell like vomit only 2 years old
I have some chill rolls from Bucket Boss that are not more than 10 years old and they were in a toolkit and it smells like vomit
I have a bunch of my grandpas old craftsmen and misc tools, same thing. They smell awful. And even though theyve been cleaned some are permanently stick to the touch and leave your hands smelling
I don't know why this old vijayo came up on my feed but Crescent brand screwdrivers make your toolbox reek of old vomit.
