CP Chicago Pneumatic is a well known brand of air tool. How does the build quality of the low profile impact gun compare to typical designs. IR Ingersol Rand also has a ratchet shaped slim impact with similar ratings. We find out that this is a very light duty design.

The strange bore finish on the aluminum "might be" something like Nikasil…super hard long lasting "space age" unobtanium alloyed with expensium coating!

A quick weed dealers secret. Make sure the scale is flat. Test it with a nickel or a dollar Bill. Nickle is 5 g and a dollar is 1 g.

So if you had a bevel gear instead of the motor part and ran that down to a pinion gear attached to a longer skinnier motor in the handle and put the valve separate or just have the handle be that much longer, it could be like half as thick no?

I wonder if the aluminum piece is barely touched like that so it remains cheap and easy to produce so they can sell it as a replacement, that way they sell enough to make extra money, but also you get more life than if that part was really good but totally unavailable

I have the 3/8 version of this impact and I absolutely LOVE it. I don't lube my tools because I'm stupid and lazy and this thing has been cooking bolts out for years in a shop environment. Gets used almost daily! The high speed hitting just buzzes shock and strut bolts right off without putting pliers on the shaft.

Looks like a Astro pneumatic. I bet Astro made it for them.
