I use screwdriver BITS because they're hollow ground. Flat ground screwsticks are just narrow chisels.

I never knew about the hollow grind, but now it makes complete sense about some of my tools at work. All company procured so you're stuck with what your boss gives you, or rather what you can beg, steal or borrow. Retirements are gold mines for pillaging the old boys toys that actually don't make you wanna tear your eyes out.
Working on 50+ year jobs all day generously sprinkled with flat screw heads, a few tools are my go to's. And now i know why: they're all hollow ground and actually fit properly!

My best screw drivers came to me from Hitachi. I was working for them for a few years and these Philips drivers would hold a screw in mid air like they were Robertson. Acetate with a really nubby handles. Gawd I love those things.
