TL;DW not a bad little secondary drill; but not a go-to workhorse. The torque/speed isn't right for heavy work. Thank you for helping me make VJOs! I enjoy taking tools appart to see how they are made. http://www.Patreon.com/AvE

So on Makita 18V system which hammer drill do you recommend for occasional DIY around the ranch for clay bricks and concrete? Not contractor/tradie use. I have the JDM Made in Japan TD172D impact driver but she’s lonely and would like a parter with serious poke potential if only now and then. Thanks for the awesome content mate some days your videos are the only things to make me laugh. And I mean that in the best possible way. 👍

Been enjoying the impact/drill set for a few years now. Needed something maneuverable, and didn't want to invest in 12v batteries. If I need more power I just reach for the electric drills anyway, but I'm not ever out of my shop.

If it didn’t have a plastic chuck and that horrendous gap I’d sell my Milwaukee n buy that. Should have been a nicely polish metal chuck. No black paint

The hammer action on this kind of machine is somewhat marketint. But actually the DDF483 and especially the DDF083 are excellent light tools when paired with 1 layer batt. For any light job. The 083 is almost like an angle drill! With it compact body and 1/4" chuck. Reely light and handy.

The font on the back of the drill is intended to be that way

I didnt give a thought about the color. But no one asked to borrow any of my makita tools over the decades of shop work I've done.

I have one of those, and it works great for wood, and makes a better bit driver than my bit drivers because I can turn slow. Like you say, not for drilling holes in the Winch mount, but it’s great for installing wood fence.
I have two slightly stronger versions of this too. Very easy to hang one with a pilot bit, and one with the driver for whatever screw, from your belt and climb a ladder.
