This is why I love my Milwaukee m12 fuel drill and impact driver. Brushless tools normally have a thermal shutoff to protect the ESC and the stator coils.
Makita replacement parts are really quite cheap and readily available. Looks like the rotor was faulty and just decided to short out. This is not the kind of damage you see from overheating, this is a manufacturing fault.
The only failure I've seen with Pro Makita tools have been the Chinese bearings they use. And on the ones where I could pull off bearing dust caps, it was from lack of grease. They seem to put just a tiny bit inside the bearings. I don't know about their cheap lines……the differences.
of course it died. you misused it….by using it. surpised not more views and thumbs down by teal fanboys screeching reeeeeeeeeeeee!!! lol!! thanks for all your vids.
Had the same smokey failure with a 4ah battery. Could it be that those batteries put out to much amps for the windings? 3ah and less seems to work better with that model.
Seppeku

ah, yup
It's a disappointment seeing a company produce e-waste !!!

that’s…an…interesting tattoo my mans got there on his right forearm 🤔
I think that's a small motor for that load and voltage.
