We have an inside look to see what makes this Panasonic different from DeWalt, Milwaukee or Bosch. It's rated IP 56, but are there significant design changes to eliminate water damage? No. It's still got shielded bearings, it's still got epoxy circuit boards, it's still got open brushes and rusty drive parts. ✪► www.etsy.com/ca/listing/464202928/one-rule-to-ruler-them-all-cheeky-jokes ◄✪

I've got a 2011 model that's been through the wringer. It's Starting to sound like it needs its fourth set of carbon brushes. I'm wanting to send it to you from Holland. How does that work?

It started its abuse when I was 22 and working as a carpenter. Dit some university so it dit had a few light duty years. I've ended up building elevators with it and it has done an outstanding job all these years. The batteries it came with are still fully functional (as long as it's over 10 degrees science). The Scandinavian cold really dit a number on one battery last year. But it's still drilling 13 and 16mm holes on a regular basis.

Ps: I've also got the impact driver that came with the kit. Besides a new housing (24,- euro) and two rounds of service it's like new. It's still the best controllable one I've handelded.

Tools in Action did a drill torture test on all of the drill brands including being dropped on the pavement from 12 ft to being dropped in a bucket of water along with dirt and sand

Not bad video. I was wondering how would you rate and compare Makita as a prosumer tool against the Panasonic.

Also, who makes the ultimate power tools?

You mentioned the Panasonic price, what about review their most costly model and how much do you rate it.

I am looking for a Panasonic or another maker drill that can be operated under water, does anyone here knows?

…even if it is only submersible for minutes.

I purchased a panasuckit drill a number of years ago when I was needing a back up drill. It was completely worthless. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Just God awful, it couldn't out chooch my old 14.4 Rigid beater which was on its 3rd rebuild under warranty…

I dropped a Bosch drill (GSB 18v- Li) into a river a few tears ago, about 1m deep for 20 or 30 seconds before I jumped in to retrieve. Drill worked fine after a night in front of the wood stove, and still does. Pixie containment device also, even the battery level LEDs. I don't think they are IP rated at all. Maybe the Germans just designed them for the Scottish climate.

I have all Panasonic… it's impossible finding quality battery packs for them… I've had to resort to welding my own packs with Panasonic batteries.

These Panasonic guns are tough! We use them in a high production assembly line and they hold up well

Panasonic makes the best cordless tools! They are industrial rated…. good luck affording them!

Oh… and when you said $150…. i couldn't help but laugh. These drills are like $300-450 USD or more for a drill/driver set.

I've only known a few people that even knew of the existence of these drills and the ones that did, swore by them being top notch.
