Love Ave's vid's, I bet the other gear is also acting as a shim if the tool gets stalled out, the pinion wants to move up, and it'll press into the other gear making the gears harder to strip. My theory anyway, aside from helping with balance it helps with alignment too
I took the liberty to do so with mine and it turns out that they both need to be set at 0°. I first tried 180° out and it was ridiculous. The tool felt like it was going to fall apart. 0° it eliminated 90° of the vibration. It makes sense if you think about it. The counterweights are made to counter the weight of the in and out shafts weight.

There are keyways on the gears that need to be lined up, but the timing is at 0 degrees

The detent was alot more sloppy then the old. it seems to be that way with all new models.
