UT216 D. Good from afar, but far from a-good! I'm very disappointed with this OLED display meter.

Here I was looking for the fuse in my ut216d, I threw it in the garbage where it belongs.
Slow down we ain't got the wings yet
0.43 nie dopchałeś do końca przewodów 😀 to jest problem 😛
I have one or at least a very similar, gotta say it's a handy little meter although I'm not expecting anything too precise. The voltage detector on the tip saved my bacon once when I found out that my metal sink/countertop was live because my water heater leaked on the bottom which is where it's connectors were
OL on a DMM = Open Line.
I've had a Uni-T UT210D baby version of that for going on five years now. It was less than $50 and it's been a little champ of a meter, recommended by Big Clive. He was right about it. It's made well, batteries last, and it does everything including capacitance and AC/DC current as well as millivolts. A whole lot packed into a little case the size of a Mickey-D's breakfast burrito, but without the heartburn.
Like for the 80 dbl info, im telling the better half next time.
DOA is a hassle but return is fairly convenient from Amazon. Directly from China is a much different story. Could also be favoritism or politics. One company I worked at, here in the US, placed a stronger focus (quality focus) for overseas markets. Meaning the stuff shipped overseas was of better quality control.
Battery compartment captive screw is nice along with a treaded insert into brass. I totally dislike the use of 3 AAA batteries because alkaline AAA are a poor value compared to AA and they both leak. My UNI-T UT210e also uses 2 AAA cells. I have to use the very pricey lithium's.
I'm thinking of getting the UNI-T UT207B because it has the low-Z function and 1000A ac/dc. The Fluke SV225 Stray Voltage Eliminator Adapter is about $70-80, pricey because the UT207B is about $100.
I've been too lazy to make my own low-Z adapter using many resistors and fuses even having the components already. The Fluke and probably UNI-T uses thermistors or similar that will eventually fail like those used in surge suppressor extension outlets.
Yep like chip names like mint and chocolate
I just learned what is stinking up my tool box! I wondered why is always smells like puke. Now I need to identify what tools have butylene in them. Thanks!
OLED is great if you have boxes of extra batteries to throw at it.
One tip for ambient temp with multimeters, if it can measure temperature with a thermocouple, you can also measure ambient by shorting the pos and neg test leads in temp mode.
Check out Southwire ..cheap but good..
from my own experience (61-e), the test leads are the problem. when i use my probe masters, continuity reaction is instant
Seems odd the “creepage distances” wouldn’t at least be skookum as far as being further apart….why not? Would it increase the manufacture price, ease of build, etc?..
