BEHOLD! OG Makita Rat Tail Grinder, choice of welders everywhere for the past thirty years. IT'S ACTUALLY MADE IN THE USA! We have a look at a current, albeit, battle worn model . It's a good 'un.

The spindle lock is designed to fail so you don't lock it while it's turning and release a crap top of angular momentum and have a more catastrophic failure
Fun fact. The gear drive for a 7.3 powerstroke High Pressure Oil Pump is held in place the exact same way the pinion gear is on this grinder. One bolt, torqued to 95ft lbs holds the gear to the pump. Pretty Shweet. But if you don’t get her torqued down enough when the engine gets hot resulting in slippage.
I wonder how one of these grinders would stand up against a Black & Pecker Wildcat grinder 🤔 Back in the day when tools were tools you could rely on.
Best grinder ever
They can't all be a treat especial – said no one ever
Hitachi made one of the best range of power tools I've had the pleasure to use
What makes stranded wire superior to solid wire in this application?
We used them in concrete grinding as the only one needed on the job no 5inch and 9inch cause the 9 inch could do if all now they don’t last nearly as long we kill the gearbox’s bearing and motors cause its all heavy work load use now we have to go fleet with Hilti
I'm pretty blown away this tool is made in the USA
