Update and Errata Part B here: http://youtu.be/Zw5RPBVOR0g
When it comes to grinders, I've always been a Makita man. But maybe this new Dewalt will change my mind. We'll teardown this grinder and have a close look at the build quality. This is a very in-depth review and test so I broke the vid into two parts. I'll post part B next Sunday.
Enjoy teardowns? Me too, but they get pricey. Please consider throwing a few bucks into the hat and help me make these vids.

I love your show. Iโve been doing construction work for over 30 years and your info helps me decide which tools to purchase for my men thank you and keep doing what you do
hah slimy sales guy will most defiantly not take one apart not sure why now but that was funny. do you look up allot of the bearings and other stuff or you pull that all out of your,,,,,,brains?
Knowing how much you love Dremel I'd love to see you check out the Dremel model 4000 because unlike the standard Dremel this one maintains the speed when working it hard…
Holding a horse and a half in the hand for HOURS at a time? What classroom only welder are you cleaning up after? ๐
I tried to explain to people all the time a grinder is the most useful, versatile tool on Earth. I can cut vinyl siding, carpet, would and the list goes on and on
i love you ave
FINALLY a REAL review with substance. Keep up the good work. I would be very interested to see the same "surgery" going on a German made Metabo, especially the 4 1/2in.
Update, we have recently purchased the new DeWalt grinder which is now brushless โค
8 years later, asking for likes and shares followed by "keep your stick on the ice" just seems so… innocent. I reckon you were in your YouTube awkward pubescent stage: those voice cracking, balls itching, and untimely/uninvited appendage-arousing tween years. Good to see you made it to manhood.
As a fabricator 5" grinders are never used. 4 1/2" is a one hand power tool, so if I'm going to give up my second hand, I go straight to a 9".
How's the grinder today? several years later?
Your videos are great! Entertaining and educational I've learned a lot of new classy words from watching your channel. Do you have or plan to dissect any of the Flex power tools in the near future?
I'm a die hard dwelt fan but as far as grinders go none of there's grinder scow nanum compete with Milwaukee
Look how clean and young AvEs hands are. The jacket sleeves are still, mostly, intact too.
