Here is the gazette (outlines policy implementation of legislation for the ministry) https://canadagazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2022/2022-01-05/html/sor-dors268-eng.html

Gentlemen's this time, they've done gone too far. Canaderp as of January 1st 2024 is Banning the WD Brake Clean and Dockster Huxtables Daytona Can my fellow? Every Man a four you go half cocked off to Ottawa the crazy idea Dollar in hand. Listen, if I just gave you some more taxes, would you leave me the alone? I Failed to understand the nature of our Arrangement them plutocrats and Otawa are trying to piss you off. That's their job I Don't get too worked up about this kind of thing I have an overstanding of this situation according to the Canadian Legislative: Gazette they are putting a cap and trade system on volatile organic compounds ostensibly to save Mother Earth Gaia from the second most abundant liquid on earth that is Earl which maybe should be kept in the ground, but it's so bloody Jesus Convenient I Try not to get too pissed off about this other stupidity.

but yeah, according to the Canadian Legislative Gazette as of January 1st this is going to get way more expensive. Brake Clean is only allowed to have 10 percent volatile organic compounds, and at this stage it's about 98 volatile organic. Well, it's 90 according to the SDS it's 90 acetone and two percent 11 herbs and spices and eight percent that dirty, dirty carbon. dioxide.

So what will happen is the small manufacturers of aerosols will go by the wayside. that is, they'll go tits up because of the onerous amount of paperwork that you will have to submit to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. You're not going to be able to sell this unless you beseech the government for a letter of Mark in order to allow you to sail the Seas of sales. Essentially, what they're doing is making all of this stuff more expensive.

All this red tape is going to make this more expensive as of: January 1st.

u almost agree when you think of something that people just spray on a mtb cassette right yonder the local creek. something 90% volatile organic compound shouldna be used so wila nililly. yet seems sketchy that certain people can still sell it at jacked up price๐Ÿค”. couple regulations with just saying supply chain and i bet they could get 4x the msrp.

Dr. Huxtable's date in a can! Jesus, that's only funny because it makes me laugh.

Canaderp is turning into Kommiefornia? Pretty soon, you'll be banning infernal combustion engines, and everything will have "Causes cancer in Canaderp" labels.

Maybe WD-40 can be sold as "fuel" (like how denatured alcohol gets around the ban in Kommiefornia)? It won't work for Bra-Kleen, since the label clearly states it is ininflammable.

Brake cleaner is already 15 bucks a can, don't f with me, this is seriously unpleasant. Fucking useless government, when did they do anything worth doing? Bunch of self important seriously unimpressive people stinking up the town, Ottawa is a shithole too, awful place to live, unaffordable too

Youre telling me you buy brake cleaner? Cmon bud youve gotta have some of those nifty chem sprayers around there. Acetone and toulene for brake cleaner
ATF and acetone for penetrating fluid.

Because used motor oil and kerosene mix in a spray bottle is so much more environmentally friendly than a can of WD-40.

    Re-brand as WD-41

So if it only contains a ninth of the active ingredient, people will just have to use nine times as much. Instead of a quick squirt, you'll need an entire can.

Apparently there's a biodiesel plant in Manitoba or somewhere that's repurposed itself to make aerosol lubricants. So I guess they'll be doing better than ok next year…

This WD40 ban had better stay in leaf land! If others countries copy this then I will REEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Talking to retailers in my area, no one even realizes they are about to be blind sided by this legislation. Many manufacturers will not get Canadian certification and will withdraw from Canada. Note to the indiginous community: Here is a golden opertunity to expand your business portfolio beyond tobaco, gasoline and fireworks.
