as a cnc machinist/programmer of 16 years i enjoy the way you explain how difficult it is to be a machinist. in reality you never get it right completely but you do get better. g-code knowledge is extremely important even with a cam package and id suggest anyone starting out develops an understanding of the use of variables and macros within that system before moving to cam.
