Behold the joys of A Midsummer thaw. Now if you're an enterprising young man, you get your hoe out and you end up going sidewards down the hill trying to break up said ice. That doesn't bother me so much, but I'm getting low on underwear so you can buy ice. corks, lugs what you weld on.
The problem is this is high manganese steel. very abrasive, resistant and uh, tough. and to weld it, you got to heat them up so you got to heat these up to 250. Frankenstein and then weld them firmer.
style is to make your own corks with some corks. Stuffing bolts works like a hot damn cheapest borsche. Just go into that rusty old bolt bin. Couple go rounds on the ice, knocks that rust right off.
