Caveat: nothing is water proof; even plastic absorbs water. But disassembling and spraying with conformal coating will extend the life of tools used in nasty spots.

I had my Milwaukee burn out the motor, but i used the dialerric greese in it and not the paint… small town and no electrical supply store. So the dialetric greese might have caused the motor to short out? It worked great for two months… any ideas? Aldo where do i send a Milwalki 1/2 Driver impact drill to get fixed that has dialectric greese all in it… lol

Heeeellllpppp! 😵 Spraying sealant on the internal connections seems like a really great way of preventing water damage. What can one do after leaving an unprotected Black and Decker Cordless Matrix System in a thunderstorm all night? I accidentally left my brand new drill outside in the rain. I didn't try to use it because I didn't want to create a short but I did remove the battery and the drill attachment and placed all 3 separated parts near a heat vent to dry out. How long do you think it will take to completely dry? Is there a good chance of it working again? Thanks!🙂

Dielectric on the connections?? It’s like resistance isn’t it? Good as long as it’s not touching the connection? Right??

Amazed by this..would any battery operated drill work as a one off..I need to cut 50mm chain link at 6 to 8 meters
..if it makes the 2 cuts I'd be happy to chuck it away.

I have dropped new cell phone into a bilge while doing some electrical work on a boat…. Having to reach in to that nasty mess blind and feel around to try to find it was the worst…. I did get the phone to work again however i could not get rid of the smell and replaced it for that reason…
