I bought a DeWalt 18v brushless chainsaw for £195, i dont collect big stuff. Just small trees and branches, its fantastic, 2 weeks later, ebay discount, could have had it for £175 or the flexvolt for £240, feckin barstewards
In Maine (USA), a local name for larch is hackmatack. Farmers used to use it on horse stall floors as it resisted rotting from horse piss. I burn it in the spring and fall for the quick heat.
I'm reminded of the time when I was but a wee lad, and my paterfamilias decided to cut a huge standing dead maple. The saw was let's say 20", and he estimated the girthiness of the tree to be just under 40". Cut the notch, made the back cut, and suddenly nothing happened. Nibbled at it here and there and the other place, and nothing continued to happen. Buried a couple wedges in the back, nothing. He ended up cutting basically all of what I now know to be the hinge, and the damn thing just stood there laughing at him. He was angry and frustrated so we packed it in for the day. Went back the next day to try… well, something … and found the tree on the ground, and a snapped-off 3" core right up the center that the saw couldn't quite reach. 😳
Wood the way to break a mans back and spirit in the desire to keep warm carried away by mosquitoes deer flys and horse flys trying to extract every ounce of blood out of your body whilst you perspire all the water from your body using the first two cuts to use between the frame and axle to haul more oh the memories

There's something to be said about the Willfuckye battery-powered chainsaw. I use mine damn near every weekend and it's nothing but reliable. Also, the Willfuckye leaf blower makes campfires extra fun

I have a "Gas Axe' just like that but it smokes a pipe. Just opening the muffler up makes for a cheap but noticeable improvement let alone a little port work. Good saw, Good day and good luck to you. Thanks for the vid.
