Taking the Harbor Freight Vulcan Welder out for a rip. It ain't no Miller 252; on the plus side it, ain't no 211. It's (surprisingly) not a bad little hobby machine. Corpo BS free zone! http://www.Patreon.com/AvE

Jeezus that tempo was borderline on Bernsteins interpretation of Nimrod
imagine my shock when the Frenchman built a guillotine
I put the wire through those soft ear buds.

Harbor freight likes to provide dirty wire with their machines. But, there's an upside. I bought a " broke" machine cheap. Cleaned the wire feed roller and tossed the HF wire.
Works fine
If you could jump across it you could weld it.

1789 all over again!
Serrated(V knurled) drive wheels are for flux core, for solid wire you use v groove or u groove. Reason being is shavings. On a cored wire, the metal is more pliant, but on a solid wire, it's likely to shave off pieces and foul your liner.
