I had to buy these 60V Dewalt Batteries to make a device that would hook up to any 120Volt AC tool and make it cordless. There was a stumble at the start gate, but I got it working on a bunch of Milwaukee packs. I want your advice on making a power tool boost box.

Isn't this just a really slow capacitor? Like a starting capacitor on your AC unit?

Could you use a “soft start” device that normally is wired into an Air Conditioning system to prevent the breaker trip?

You could just use a capacitor.

But yes, everything should be DC. F*ck AC for anything.

Believe that's called a line conditioner. Been doin it for years in the professional audio world. Or P.A. World, I should say…ya if you dip too low on hard hitting notes they have capacitative circuitry that conditions or bumps up the voltage for dips and smooths the spikes as well. But I suppose batteries would do the same thing…just don't know how batteries would stack up to capacitors when it comes to transient/in-rush currents. But I like it.
