Keep baby chickens warm, watered and fed and that's pretty much it. Keep the bedding dry and wipe the poop off their butts for the first few days and you're good to go.

If you can yeah pre-born they're born at a very early age, you can get them pre-sexed as well, so you don't get too many roosters in there. You get the odd one. Sneaking in all you got to do is make sure it's warm enough about 75 or so dungarees frankenstein, however, many of that is in science. You get us some chick starter, there's some medicated stuff from the breeder, and then you get them a little watering dish.
It's got some vitamins in there, but we'll switch to straight water. These as they grow bigger, are a pain in the yards because you got to fill them, but four or five times daily. So you get one of these buckets. This bucket doesn't have any holes in it, dear liza, so the water just sits in there and it takes a long time for those little chicks to drink through all that water, rather than getting calloused up running to and fro the coop to fill up the food And water, the food they go through in a couple weeks, they'll be going through two three of those in a day and you change to a different amount of protein in it.
But you'll see whatever kind of feed you're going to feed them, and all you really need is a heat lamp huh attached to one of these here thermostats it bob's your auntie. Now we give them a nice big pen so that if and it's too hot, they got room to get away from the heat. So it's not to cook and then, if it's cold, they'll be huddled right underneath the heat lamp you know, maybe you got ta hot. It up in here.
That's all there is to it the wood shavings on the ground. Oh you hear an alarm call. Oh she got out in here and now she's freaking out before little darling. That's her alarm, call she's, afraid she's missing her friends.

You go to the feed store. You get! Some of this bagged up pine shavings that keeps it nice and dry in there. They do poop a lot if you go to the feed store and you get the right. Lady at the at the till she'll tell you exactly what you need to know.
There's not not that much to it. You get the right feeds. You get the right speeds.
Chickens too skinny? Your feedrate is too low.
Chickens too hot? Speed is too high.
Chickens are on fire? You forgot coolant.
Chickens producing a lot of chatter? Good luck finding the problem if it isn't one of the above.
Ahh, I remember seeing these things next to the power tools section in Ace Hardware. There was no literature posted, so I wasn't sure what they were used for.
When I was a kid we raised chickens for eggs and meat, if at some point they start picking each other we added a bit of salt to their feed and they would stop, it was the salt in the blood that they craved.

Tip: Day old chicks can drink from a feeder that is slightly elevated 2" from the floor bottom; This helps keep the water fresh, which you will have to change daily to prevent from going sour. Fresh water is key.
What was in that bucket that was sitting on it's side? It looked like it had dried concrete or ash filling the bucket. It looked really strange to me, can anyone explain what that setup was and what it was for (esp since he had the other water "feeder")?
Had some for almost a year, then got busy so gave them to the wife's family who cooked em up.
Of course, I predict now that we will be seeing some hydraulically powered chicken tractor being cobbled together in the ensuing months. Lots of diverse skills can be put to work to that end.

Raising them is easy.. you did not talk about all the consequences having 10 fully grown chickens pillaging and torching your garden until nothing is left but finely ground dirt, dust and ashes.
