http://youtu.be/mooOBhYJeI4 Battleshots, a drinking game ripoff of Battleship from Milton Bradley. Sue me at your peril.
I tackle THE question of our age. Why can't they make a good trimmer head? I've got the best trimmer I could buy, according to the reviews, the Stihl FS 38. It's a skookum power tool, but the cable head doo-dad will drive you to drinking! In the process, I stumble upon the next extreme sport.

Why’d the Battleshots video (along with apparently ~100 other back-cataloguers?) get taken down?

Literally just came in from servicing the carb and replacing the bulb on my FS-38. Been in the family for many years, the head has had a few hangry taps in it's time and needs replacing, good little simple motor though, if I can do it, hell anypne can.

I have never had one of these auto spoolers that worked. I finally just gave up and got one of those plastic blade sets that attach to the end. works great.

Yea… all centrifugal whipper snippers kinda get all tongue tangled and slick dickered and such. I like those plastic blade ones one or twice…. But those proper yellers will shatter and embed if your shin if you hit the wrong stone or paver….. great for bush whacking n trail clearing not for edges….

I’ve tried threading braided cable instead of whip cord once….. don’t do it. It’s bad…. Think the worst form of a brush grinder wheel but every which way and infernal combustion powered…. And longer… fucking whip darts…May not have thought that one through fully.

You bought the cheapest "entry level" trimmer of this brand, wich is perfectly fine for light duty use. And I will admit, they're all a pain in the ass when it comes to restringing the heads….lil tip…drop a few extra dollhairs on their Autofill head….dont even have to remove head assembly to refill with new string. Just seat new string in both sides of head and turn it as it winds new string inside for ya. Cut off excess and get back to trimmin! If ya want more power, reach, and alot better overall performance then start with their straight shaft design…I have 6 acres in rural Iowa and have had my Stihl FS56RC now for over 6 years and no problems at all yet other than a warrantied carburetor almost 2 years in but that the shitty corn fuel's fault not Stihl's and they covered it for they offer 2 year warranty if you break it in with their fuel mix bought at time of purchase. Their newer products just arent comparable with what they were 20 years ago but who's really are in today's world of butthurt pandering to nonworthy panzys especially those assclowns over at the EPA.

He made so many mistakes. After surviving long enough in the world to see this video. I have concluded…
    1. Never buy a curved shaft trimmer.

    2. Always get the most premium clutched straight shaft trimmer you can afford.

    2. 2 cycle is more powerful and lighter than 4 cycle trimmers.

    3. Making proper fuel mix is easy, do not buy premade.

    4. Use trimmer line made by companies that making a living from monofilament fishing lines. They know their stuff.

    5. Stick with brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, Shindaiwa, Kawasaki, etc.

    6. Try not to buy homeowner brand weed eaters. (Made specifically to frustrate you and cause bodily harm).

    7. Once you buy a trimmer. If it's an echo bump feed, commercial or not. Throw that head in the garbage! You can't fix that design. If it's a speed feed head. If you are a casual dumb dumb… keep the head installed.

    8. For habitual trimmer users remove the deflector if it's large. Just gets in the way. Wear safety goggles or engage safety squints.

    9. If you live near sand. Wear long pants. More so if you have a lot of rocks where you live.

    10. If you dislike changing trimmer line all the time. Do not like speed feed heads cause you go through trimmer line like crazy. Get a Husqvarna universal head for whatever trimmer you own. Problem solved. Doesn't jam, loads plenty of line. Has a seperator to keep trimmer line from fusing. Accepts all the size lines you might want to use. I use the Husqvarna T35 tap and go head on many of my trimmers.

    11. Stay away from ethanol fuels for power equipment. If you can't help it. Drain gas and run it out of carb after each use.

They do make parts to get rid of that stupid string all together. Put a new head on it and that has plastic replacement blades. They also make several other styles. Just go to your Weed eater department at many farm and fleet places and throw that junk away

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nathan Cannon says:

Get you a speed feed trimmer head for that thang.. it's ratcheting head cut one big piece of string pull it through the eyes of the head and turn it to wind the string up and your good to go you will love it if you try it. Stay cool be classy
