Down in the bayou I like to use lemonine(orange peel oil). It works by deglazing the wax on the insects aspirating capilaries. It keeps the skeeters away too.
Afaik insecticidal soaps based on potassium salts of fatty acids don't degrade the plants' leaves' waxy cuticle layer the way dish DETERGENTs would.
Detergents can work a treat as surfactant / penetrant on some weeds to allow better uptake of lethal herbicide dosages (lethal to the weeds, anyway)

I just found out that aphids are a sign of fertilizer imbalance. Specifically too much nitrogen.
Any soapy water solution kills bees, wasps ect. Low surface tension of water drowns them. No chemicals needed
Interesting point about bubbles foam and lather. I wonder if baby soap would be a good compromise between the 2 as it foams a lot less.
Find the plant, aka weed called plantain. It grows in around driveways, take a leaf mash it up and a small dab of saliva and mash up a lil more and hold to sting, bite, burn and cut. Stops pain instantly, stops bleeding instantly and promotes healing wounds without stitches in 24hrs.
Id say iffin you need to take care of a whole mess of leaves, id snag a soap cannon made for washin vehicles and rain down soapy doom from below
