"light from the fire is just the energy from the sun that the tree took in when it was alive" (Richard Feynman- in some interview)

Nothing like staring into the depths of a crackling fire to wash away the day. One minute I was listening to the gospel according to good ol' Uncle B and the next I'm startled awake by the dulcet tones of Johnny Horton (sounded like his Vegas years) walking off across the shop. Thanks AvE!!!

that's a pretty good spanish AvE. Now I kinda get why you mangle english so much, your brain holds so many languages, it wants to use em all at the same time

Fire is cave man security, warmth, and food. Wood smoke smells like dinner is cooking. Thousands of cave man years programmed admiration, respect and desire for fire.

Iโ€™m not a fella that tends too sleep well. But one thing Iโ€™ve found that helps me pass out are these fire/Yule log vidyas. The gentle crackle and the soft flicker of light just does something to me. Helps that the better 3/4s has a body temp that would rival a fire too. I just got to figger out how too get the smoke smell with out torching my humble abode.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars E Stettler says:

I hate the smell an open fire leaves on my clothes. Its fucking dirty. And this is coming from a pocono PA hillbilly. But a woodstove smell is where it's at

Well, the family will be happy. This year there is alternative programming besides Nick Offerman's Yule Log. We will alternate betwixt the two from Thanksgiving day til new years.

I notice a week or so back in the firewood experiment video comments a guy said he was using it as his Yule log video, ask and Olโ€™ Uncle AvE will provide.

The energy released is readily absorbed by the body. It is nourishing to the cells. The body craves it, much like sunlight itself. It is an electric phenomena, with the Earth as ground. Bare feet and a fire on the ground, or putting one's feet on the hearth, changes the experience again. It is an essential part of well-being.

Initially a slow Northbound train crossed our tracks in my Michigan town. Not out of earshot of my home. It was a nice touch. Thanks for your take on things. I appreciate it tonight.
