We know what that scenario feels like here in Oz. God singed pretty bad in 2005 ourselves – we just lost our place and stuff, others lost far far more… Thought I had it dealt with until 2019 when we burned as a country, and on friends places. Found out the false bravado isn't what it used to be myself too. Glad you are all good, hope you don't lose anything, or anything important – looks like you have your priorities pretty right. I still own a horse float because I can put animals or precious things in it and get them out of there – and we haven't owned our little place, the sandpit for 13 years now – or a horse… I reckon I've rescued hundreds of animals and lots of gear now. Don't much like the new fires we are getting, used to be able to manage things back a decade or two but not now… Stay safe. Cuddle everyone – it makes the bravado come back a lot quicker I reckon.
