Chickadee Engineering | Bullfrog
Boys and f girls. I got a frog. What kind of frog is it bull frog? What are we gon na do with it play with it? He's my new pet? Can we eat his legs? You know he's an endemic species. We should probably put him in the freezer: what's an endemic species, yeah he's uh he's not supposed to be here.
He kills everything but he'll kill. Ducklings he'll kill chickens, he'll eat eggs, i'm keeping him in a bucket. How do you suppose he can kill things you're too smart look at his feet. I'm trying to get away.
Is he gon na poop on you, i'm not holding his butt bye-bye uh, i'm a frog bye!.
"How do you suppose.."
And that is when my mom would have backhanded me across the face and told me not to get smart with her.
I have a few fat toads that hang outside the shop walls eating every creepy crawly at night under the flood lights. Dry season has made the insect population collapse this year. I just ordered some meal worms and wax worms. End of season I plump them up just before hibernation. Years ago it was the leopard frogs that hung out. Come up from the two drainage ponds in the back. All died one season, I guess this year too, fuq an A. Not sure if it was a parasite or some jerk dumping a deadly substance down one of the many drainage holes around the warehouse condo facilities. Anyway, I look forward to feeding my hungry friends. People don't realize bullfrogs and leopard frogs are invasive species that eat anything including cannibalism. Seen it a few times. Sick.
"I'm keeping him in a bucket. How do you suppose he can kill things?"
You are outclassed AvE, outclassed.
Toads are such a cool animal. When I was little with my friends we used to make them Astronauts with Estes Rockets. Ah, Fond memories of childhood eh?
Oddly nice watching chickadee growing up as she makes appearances in your videos. I still remember when she stormed into the shop to show off her banana boots. Hope the family is well!
And as others have pointed out
Thats a toad
If you look at the head shape and eye shape its easy to tell
mygawd, how many years have I watched this now? The kid can finesse her way into keeping a dangerous creature to her dad? Wow, they grow so fast. :,)
That’s a toad AvE. It looks like the American one. It doesn’t look like a cane toad. But I’m not an expert
The frog seemed to be taking things well, perhaps recognizing that he was in his 15 minutes of fame or figuring there was no escape from this alien abduction scenario… she is cute and clever… poor frog!
I love this channel. 1 no shill reviews of it looks good. 2 no care on political correctness. And 3 I enjoy seeing you interact with your daughter learning her about the world and tools. Your rasing a good family sir.
@AvE I'm no enginerd but i think thats a toad not a frog and i think you meant invasive, as being endemic means prevalent/common/usual to an area.
You know you've been watching a channel for a long time when you've seen the host's kids go from a tottering occasional visitor and an unseen entity referenced at the other end of a baby monitor, to walking, talking, bit players & providers of straight lines. Probably not long before you ask her where she got something and she replies "The usual scumbags."
as a dad who also loves to teach mine new and interesting things, this is one of the coolest vids, no shop no tools (not that i dont love that too) just some quality time with the chickadee, these are my favorite conversations with my little girl. i got on my boy about cussing lol (learned from me) now when he busts a knuckle in the shop he goes outside and spits lmao.
Being a standard city slicker I was fascinated by the amphibian fauna in upstate NY when I was a kid. Of course my dad tried to ruin this by telling me they'll spit in my eyes and I'll go blind, so I promptly went to the garage and appropriated a pair of safety squints and continued to play with the frogs. Or toads. Whatever they were, THEY NEVER SPIT AT ME.
Dads and daughters. There's real magic in that relationship that can't be explained, just appreciated. You're a lucky man!
