A lot of old 3 phase motors are hardwired in star (wye, Y) configuration. You can run them on these 220v output vfds but you get something like 50% of rated power. You can open the motor up and try to locate the star point, cut it and bring the terminals out to the junction area to be wired in delta, but it's a bit of a job for someone who hasn't done it before. Can damage the winding insulation during the job or in operation afterwards if it's not put back together mickey mouse.
