    I’ve machined rail 8ish years ago… I think I did something like 1/2 4 flute 900 rpm and 5-7.5 ipm I know it’s slow but it cuts… as long as it doesn’t make noise you should be good any noise at all is the tool screaming for help.

    When my dad was a kid in 1935 he made a working .22 cal. pearl handled revolver from a piece of rail road track and some clam shells from the river. He used only hand tools like a hacksaw files and a hand drill.
